GWENT: The Witcher Card Game Public Beta

By

Last August we covered the delay that CD Projekt (publisher of The Witcher series) announced regarding The Witcher card game: GWENT. The initial launch date for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game was set for September of 2016 but was postponed to the next month (October, 25th). Now, GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is soon to make its way into many of our computers. On May 17, 2017, CD Projekt RED confirmed that GWENT: The Witcher Card Game will begin its public beta on May 24th and will available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The Developers want GWENT’s public beta to be a fresh start. This means that all the progress that any of us has made over the past few months will be lost. It may be a little discouraging but with a number of new players coming into the game, it makes sense that the developers would want everyone to start off relatively equal (those who played GWENT over the closed beta will have an upper hand by understanding the game better than players who will jump in on May 24th). The only benefit of having played GWENT over the closed beta is that anyone who took part in the closed beta will receive Card Kegs and a few other rewards in the game. With all the excitement over GWENT, it’ll be fun to see how things will play out with Blizzard’s Hearthstone still dominating this area.
