Far Cry 5 to be Set in Hope County, Montana

By

A few days ago Ubisoft officially announced that Far Cry 5 was in the works and that announcement led us to wonder what era the game would be set in this time out. The last title in the franchise was set in the way, way back in prehistoric times. It appears that Ubisoft is putting Far Cry 5 back into modern times with a setting in Hope County, Montana.

What is known about the game now comes via some confirmed rumors courtesy of Ubisoft. There will be a series of increasingly well defended radio towers that the player will have to clear to unlock different parts of the map. The full reveal for the game will come May 26, only three days away. Don’t expect all the details though as Ubisoft will certainly hold some good stuff back for unveiling at E3 2017.

Along with the confirmed rumors also come some very cool trailers for the game, which you can watch below. The game is expected to revolve around some sort of cult with a survivalist militia bent. One rumor that was floating around on Reddit according to Forbes had tossed around the Tom Cruise name as an example of a character in the game.

We have no idea at this point what the gameplay will be like for the game. We hope for some changes to the same old formula that past titles have offered. It’s nice to see the game come back to a modern setting.
