EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Kingpin 6GB Video Card – Made for Overclocking

A number of websites are reporting this week that EVGA is preparing to launch an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti video card unlike anything on the market. The EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Kingpin Edition is going to be the name of the card and it was created with the help of world renowned overclocker Vince “k|ngp|n” Lucido. records with GPUs. The EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Kingpin Edition Graphics Card is special as it would have 6GB of GDDR5 memory and is said to have no TDP limit or locked voltages. It will be interesting to see what the NVIDIA GK110 GPU with its 2880 CUDA cores is capable of in this board. The upcoming card appears to use EVGA’s ACX (Active Cooling Xtreme) cooling solution with at least five heatpipes  and is said to have a powerful VRM design. The images we have seen shows that the card has two 8-pin and one 6-pin PCIe power connectors to ensure that this monster card has all the power it needs for extreme overclocking. We’ve included all the images that EVGA and Vince have shared with the public of the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Kingpin Video Card below.

UPDATE  12/4/2013 3pm CT: EVGA responded to our inquiry on the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Kingpin Edition and informed us that it would have higher clock speeds than the standard Classified version, that it is aimed at LN2 cooling users and that it is just 3GB contrary to what the rumors have said.  So, no 6GB version is to be had here.

    Release Date – TOMORROW!!!

  • Jonno

Nvidia have always rocked to me, but i bought 2 780s a while back, and 2 days later, they dropped price, i lost 150 English pounds on both cards, so pretty ticked off, however i bought 2 Ti’s now and then am informed that a 6gb version is coming WTF.Nvidia you are lucky i think AMD are cheap loud and nasty!

    • Dumbo

You do realize you don’t need to buy a card every time they release it, right? Your 780 SLI set-up would’ve been fine for a very long time.

  • Buccomatic

    3gb vram is BULLSHIT!

  • BL

Suck it EVGA making this card when I just bought 2 x 780 classifieds a couple months ago then dropped the price $200 on them right after that.

Kinda your own fault. Everyone knew NV was going to price drop the 700 series once the 290X was released. Every generation is pretty much “buy it on release or buy it after AMD releases their stuff”. Anything in between you get hosed.

Never be an early adopter, unless you are willing to accept that shit like this is going to happen.

  • allimcbiel

nvedia is beginning to suck if they keep this trickle going…

  • allimcbiel

    Who needs a 3GB card..go away

    • BL

There are those of us that game at higher than 1080p pal thats who. 2560 x 1600 max settings, should try it sometime.

    • Nick

BF4 pulls 2.1GB at 1080p, even more at higher resolutions. Unless you want the card that is vram bottlenecked within a year of purchase, then you wouldnt even consider 3GB cards these days. 6GB really needs to be the standard for new high end graphics cards.

Happy being nvidia customer, switching to fucking amd

  • ManstuR

WTF -_- I sold my my two 780s for this card thinking that it has 6GB of VRAM!! I hope they are joking I really need that 6GB for Vray CUDA rendering. I’m limited to the size of textures that I can use due to the 780s have 3GB of VRAM.

    • ABoyd

      Shut it, Metzger.

    • n0Odle
