EVGA Discovers Issue With Some SuperNova Power Supplies

By

EVGA has found an issue with some of their SuperNOVA 1000W and SuperNOVA 1300W power supplies! It turns out that there is insufficient insulation on the thermal pad by a heatsink which may cause the Power Supply to shut down or be unable to power on. This issue was found on just those two power supplies and on models that were purchased prior to October 1st, 2013. EVGA will swap out all power supplies that were built without enough insulation and give those owners a free EVGA T-shirt for the hassle of swapping out the PSU.

EVGA SuperNOVA Power Supplies Affected:

  • EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 Power Supply (120-G2-1000-XR)
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 Power Supply (220-P2-1000-XR)
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 Power Supply (120-G2-1300-XR)

You can check your PSU serial number here to see if it is an affected unit.
