EVGA Branded Memory Appears At Micro Center

EVGA DRAM Memory

Did you know that EVGA has their own branded memory line now? It looks like EVGA made a formal announcement on their forums last week and didn’t make a big to-do about it. The DDR3 and DDR4 memory kits are available exclusively at Micro Center. Not much is known about the kits since they are so new, but the word on the street is that G.Skill is making the kits for EVGA. One of the things that we noticed right away is that the EVGA high performance memory kits are only backed by a 3-year warranty. Most all PC memory these days is backed by a lifetime warranty, so this be a turn off for some.

EVGA Superclocked and SSC high performance memory is designed to provide excellent performance for the power user. Using carefully selected chips, optimal timings, a black PCB and specially designed heat spreader these modules deliver an unbeatable combination of price and performance. Available EXCLUSIVELY at Micro Center!

When it comes to pricing it looks like EVGA is being fairly competitive. Take the EVGA 16GB (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR3 memory kit for example. It runs $109.99 plus tax or shipping and has CL11 timings (11-11-11-30) and runs at 1.5 Volts. The Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR3 memory kit runs $139.99 with a lifetime warranty and has similar 11-11-11-27 timings at 1.5V. The cheapest priced 16GB dual-channel 2133MHz kit on Newegg would be the G.Skill Sniper Series at $99.99 shipped with 10-12-12-31 timings at 1.6V and a lifetime warranty.

Update 05/11/2015 @ 6:30pm CT: I just got a response from EVGA on the rather unique short warranty period and they said this: “To keep inline with our other products graphics and MB are all 3 year.”
