Elpida samples 2Gbit 80nm DDR2 for server applications

By

After introducing its 80nm DDR2-800 memory during June, Japan-based Elpida Memory today announced it is shipping 80nm made 2Gbit DDR2 SDRAM samples. I’m sure servers will be happy to see these 800MHz modules coming down the pipes.

The 2Gbit DDR2 is manufactured at Elpida?s 12-inch fab (E300) at Hiroshima, Japan. The memory is available in three different data rate speeds: 533Mbps, 667Mbps and 800Mbps. The supply voltage (VDD) is 1.8V+/-0.1V and the memory is packed under a 68-ball FBGA package.
