Star Wars old Republic Knights of the Fallen Empire

Star Wars is coming back in a big way this year, and the showings at E3 made that fact readily apparent. With the next installment of the film franchise coming out this holiday, game companies are updating old games and taking full advantage of the star destroyer sized hype train. Lets start with the biggest news for star wars which is that of Star Wars Battlefront.

Star Wars old Republic Knights of the Fallen Empire Concept ArtA third/first person shooter using the DICE Frostbite 3 Engine, the game looks absolutely amazing and plays very smooth. The developer seem to want to capture the fast paced action of the movie with how the game looks while including their signature destructible environments. While a cursory glance may seem that its another Battlefield clone, the scale and feel lends itself to a call back of the original Battlefront games (still hoping for space combat though).

The second big announcement was on the massively multiplayer side of Star Wars involving the game Star Wars: The Old Republic. The new expansion coming out this fall titled Knights of the Fallen Empire promises to return to the Storytelling style that Bioware is known for producing. While no gamplay was shown information was released that the first 11 chapters of the story would be released at launch day on October 27th, with the remaining 5 chapters released in an episodic fashion totaling in 16 new chapters of story content. This expansion will also be free for subscribers.

Disney Infinity

At Disneys booth their big product was that of Disney Infinity the 3.0 Update. With this update the game has added a whole slew of Star Wars character. Some of the characters included are Luke Skywalker Darth Vader, Han Solo from the original trilogy as well as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and master Yoda from the prequel trilogy. They have also added characters from The Clone Wars Animated Series such as Ahsoka Tano and many more. The game update is set to be release in Q3/Q4 of 2015.
