Dota 2 Siltbreaker Co-Op Campaign Launches This Month

By

Dota 2 fans might be excited to hear that the game is getting its first co-op game mode this month. The campaign is called Siltbreaker and the exact date this month it will land hasn’t been offered up. While a new campaign is cool, one thing that might bother gamers about it is that Valve is charging money for this campaign.

One of the things that has set Dota 2 apart from its peers since launch has been the fact that it cost no money for core gameplay and characters. The new Siltbreaker campaign will cost $10. To get the campaign you have to pay for the annual International Battle Pass. Typically that International Battle Pass allows you to participate in tournaments virtually, but the pass this year will also include access to four-player story-driven campaigns that will launch in two parts.

The Siltbreaker campaign is the first part and the second will launch later. Siltbreaker puts players in a world called Dark reef and lets you and three buddies fight through monsters, traps, and what Valve calls lethal terrors. Sure you have to pay for the new campaign mode by buying the International Battle Pass, but the game client and all versus modes are free reports Ars Technica.

It’s not clear just yet exactly what the campaign will be like. We aren’t sure if there will be massive and large worlds or small settings where waves of enemies attack.
