Doom on the Nintendo Switch Looks Awesome

I can remember the first time I played Doom on my PC way back in the day. It was the very first game that actually made me jump frequently. All the voices in the background and demons flying out at you was scary. Doom is coming to the Nintendo Switch and some hands on detail of the game has surface and it looks to be awesome.

Switch fans might have been worried a bit about how the game would play since the console isn’t exactly the most powerful on the market. You can get a very good Doom experience while on the go and Polygon has some impressions of the game. From all that is said, the game appears to be just what you would expect of Doom and it runs very well on the portable device.

There are still some unknowns about the game, Bethesda isn’t offering up details on frame rates or resolution. Obviously the frame rate and resolution won’t be as good as they are on beefier consoles like the Xbox and PS4. The Switch version reportedly runs at 30fps compared to 60 fps on the other consoles.

The only gripes about the game come from the Joy-Cons, Polygon says they “do not feel great.” You’ll probably want a Pro controller to play this one, but gamers will be able to muddle through with Joy-Cons it sees. I’m still surprised that Doom is coming to the Switch at all, this is a good thing.
