Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer to Launch June 27

By

The last time we talked about the coming DLC for Diablo III called Rise of the Necromancer was in November of last year. All we knew at the time as far as the launch date goes was sometime in 2017. Blizzard has finally given up more details on the DLC including the launch date of June 27. Yep, the Necromancer class will return to Diablo III in a bit less than a week from today.

Rise of the Necromancer will sell for $15 and will be available after the update for the core game to 2.6.0 lands, that update will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS4 and Xbox One gamers who haven’t pulled the trigger on Diablo III will be able to get the new Necromancer content along with the currently available Ultimate Evil Edition of the game in a set called Diablo III: Eternal Collection. Eternal Collection sells for $60 normally, but for a limited time it will sell for $40.

It’s not clear how long that bargain $40 price tag will last, so you better get it quick if you want it. The main thing the Rise of the Necromancer DLC brings is the namesake Necromancer class which was popular in Diablo II. Necromancer characters are playable in the campaign and Adventure mode just as all other characters are reports GameSpot.

Other content is included in the DLC such as a non-combat pet, cosmetic wigs, banner customization options, portrait frame, and a pennant. Two additional character sports are included for all versions and PC gamers get those two character slots as well as two more stash tabs. The DLC lands after maintenance is complete on June 27, which starts at 10 am PT for PC and at 8AM PT for console gamers in North America. Diablo III gamers who own Reaper of Souls expansion will get The Shrouded Moors, Temple of Firstborn, Realms of Fate, and Challenge Rifts free with the patch.
