Diablo 3 Players Can Return to “Darkening of Tristram” Dungeon in January

If you are a fan of the video game Diablo 3, the game will kick off a special event in January that will allow gamers to return to the original dungeon for the game. The event will be a rehashing of the 20th anniversary of the Darkening of Tristram even held back in 2016 that recreated an original dungeon from 21 years ago complete with pixeled graphics reports PC Gamer.

The new Darkening of Tristram even will start on January 1, 2018, at midnight PT and will be available to play through January 30. Presumably, the pixelated graphics will reappear, and the dungeon will be every bit as bleak as people who played the original game remember.

“Your journey begins on the trail of a group of mysterious cultists causing trouble in Sanctuary. As you hunt them down in Adventure Mode, youll uncover clues leading to a portal into Tristrams past, and the terrifying darkness that took hold of the town so many years ago,” Blizzard said.

“Follow the clues and youll soon find yourself in a realm of glorious RetroVision, where an all-too-familiar cathedral looms. Explore the depths and youll discover familiar enemies and iconic items, all brought to life in the Diablo III engine. Meanwhile, deep beneath the catacombs, the Dark Lord himself awaits any intrepid adventurer who dares to challenge him.”
