Chrono Trigger to Get Original Graphics on PC

By

Square Enix has announced that it will be updating the PC version of Chrono Trigger this month with an option that will allow players of the game to change between the high-resolution graphics they already have and the pixelated graphics of the original. There are some other items coming in the updates set to roll out for the game over the coming months.

Exactly what those changes will be we dont know right now. Chrono Trigger originally landed on the SNES 23 years ago. The problem with graphics for fans was that some of the HD updated graphics didn’t look good on the character sprites and background art reports Ars Technica.

Modders have been trying to fix the issues with graphics that appear to be at least in part due to poor dev work on Square Enix’s part. The devs working on fixing the issues with the Steam game might not need to fix anything with the original graphics option landing.

An exact launch date is unknown. We also dont know what the other patches and updates that Square Enix has promised will bring to the game or exactly when those might launch.
