Call of Duty fans have a little bit of an added incentive to hop on and play a round today. A video posted earlier to the official Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Youtube channel notes that a Black Market update is now available for the game. The following information was in the notes for the video that was released earlier today:

“New personalization items have arrived at the Black Market. Exchange your Cryptokeys and Call of Duty Points for a chance at new character customizations, weapon camos, melee weapons, and more!

The new Black Market items are available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.”

There isn’t any additional notes about what the items are, but the video does give plenty of clues and since all of the items can be purchased in-game, players can find out what items have been added immediately. We have done a quick check and found that brass knuckles and a butterfly knife are now available in the melee weapons section. Gamers have the option of purchasing items in the Black Market by earning points by playing the game, or points can now be purchased via micro-transaction, a practice that we’re not too fond off. The enticement to earn upgrades through play is fine, but charging money for upgrades cheats players as a whole.
