BIOSTAR Selling Intel Z170 Motherboards Direct To Consumers On eBay

Legit Reviews is currently writing up a review on the BIOSTAR GAMING Z170X motherboard and noticed that the only place that you can purchase that particular motherboard in the United States is eBay directly from BIOSTAR themselves. In fact, the only place you can purchase any of BIOSTAR’s Intel Z170 chipset based motherboards would be on eBay. This explains why we haven’t seen any Z170 boards by BIOSTAR become available for purchase on reailers like Amazon, Newegg, NCIX or Tiger Direct!

We aren’t exactly sure why BIOSTAR decided to go this route with their latest motherboard series, but it appears that they are trying to cut out the middle man and sell direct to their customers. We aren’t sure how much money consumers are saving by cutting out the middle man as no one else is selling this board or if the program has been successful for them. We also have not seen any PR push promoting the fact that the BIOSTAR GAMING Z170X and BIOSTAR GAMING Z170T are only available on eBay, but BIOSTAR USA let us know that they put a link on the top right of their Facebook page that says Shop Now and hope that drives traffic. They also confirmed that the eBay account is officially them and that they are now selling brand new boards, not refurbished, direct to the customer under the eBay username biostarusa.

The one problem that we see with this strategy is that you don’t see the ‘shop now’ link if you aren’t logged into Facebook, so that limits who can even see the link!

Since we weren’t aware of the new sales strategy here in the United States we thought we’d put a quick news post up about where you can purchase one of the new BIOSTAR Gaming Z170 boards!
