AT&T Launches HD Voice in St. Louis Metro Area

Customers to experience better audio quality while simultaneously surfing on the nations most reliable 4G LTE network

St. Louis, Mo. July 23, 2015Today, AT&T is launching High Definition (HD) Voice across much of Missouri, including the St. Louis metro area. With HD Voice, AT&T customers can experience crystal clear conversations while simultaneously surfing the Web at 4G LTE speeds. HD Voice will be available in the St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, Jefferson City, Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Joplin, Neosho, Lake of the Ozarks, Moberly, Sedalia, West Plains, Poplar Bluff, and much of the surrounding areas.

HD Voice from AT&T provides:

  • Ability to Talk while Surfing the Nations Most Reliable 4G LTE Network AT&T customers have long been able to talk and surf the Web simultaneously, and now AT&T customers will be able to talk while surfing at ultra-fast 4G LTE speeds. Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) is the all-Internet Protocol (IP) network technology that enables HD Voice from AT&T, and VoLTE also enables the ability to talk while surfing the Web on the nations most reliable 4G LTE network.
  • Better overall audio quality The use of wideband audio for HD Voice, which expands the frequency range of audio signals, enabling more natural sounding voice.
  • Noise cancellation Customers using HD Voice will hear reduced background noise compared to standard voice calls, helping to make conversations crystal clear.

In order to experience HD Voice, both callers will need to be in an AT&T HD Voice coverage area using an AT&T HD Voice-capable device with HD Voice set up on their AT&T account. There is no extra charge for HD Voice service.
