The AMD Radeon R9 290X reference card has taken some serious heat for being a hot graphics card with a poor reference GPU cooler design. ASUS hopes to correct that situation with the ASUS R9 290X DirectCU II graphics card. This custom designed card features ASUS’ Super Alloy Power Technology and their DirectCU II GPU cooler with four 10mm nickel plated copper heatpipes! ASUS is not mentioning clock speeds or how much their DirectCU II GPU cooler improves the thermal and acoustics.
ASUS released the images on the ROG Facebook page and asked fans for feedback about what can be improved on the card. They even said that they might be able to implement the communities feedback, so it looks like this card in development and not going to be coming out really soon.
