ASRock Fatal1ty X99M Killer/3.1

Over the weekend ASRock released images of another USB 3.1 mainboard creation, the ASRock Fatal1ty X99M Killer/3.1 micro-ATX motherboard. This board has two traditional SuperSpeed+ USB 3.1 Type-A headers for wicked 10 Gb/s performance and it also just happens to be the latest board in the Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel product lineup. SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Type-A connectors are still backwards compatible with the current USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices. This is actually the only ASRock motherboard to have USB 3.1 Type-A onboard!

Other highlights of this Micro-ATX board includes high-end 60A power chokes in the 12-power phase design, quad-channel DDR4 memory, Ultra M.2 socket for PCIe Gen3 x4 support, Purity Sound 2 audio technology and of course support for Intel Core i7 and Xeon 18-core processors thanks to the Intel LGA2011-3 socket. The aluminum alloy heatsink design looks the same on the ASRock Fatal1ty X99M Killer/3.1 as it did on the original ASRock Fatal1ty X99M Killer, so it looks like the only really big change is the addition of the two USB 3.1 headers and controller for them to work.
