A new patch for the game Ark: Survival Evolved has landed for PC gamers called Update V257. The update brings with it some new cool content that PC gamers will enjoy such as new gear, a cave, as well as some other game tweaks and changes. The developers say that the update is one of the largest to date for the game.

The biggest part of the update for the game are changes to the games TEK tier endgame content reports GameSpot. Players are able to build a TEK clone chamber to clone creatures. A new saddle can be created to ride Megalodons, and enhanced TEK turret and a sticky grenade are all available.

The update also brings a cave that is in an active volcano for high-level players to check out. If players travel to the cave they can gain access to the Ascension mechanic, which is also part of the update. The Ascension mechanic is a way to make the game world more difficult and requires that players beat every boss, complete the cave, and then beat one final boss to Ascend.

Among the new creatures are a giant bee called the Apis Lithohermaea, Kentrosaurus Aethiopicus whichs is a smaller and more deadly stegosaurus, Liopleurodon Magicus (which grants luck if you tame it), and a Daeodon Comedentis dubbed the hell pig. The patch also brings UI changes and new hairstyles and facial hair. The are also over 20 new explorer notes and 15 new music tracks per biome. Full console-style gamepad functionality also comes to the PC in this update.

While the patch is only on the PC for now, the devs say that it is coming for the PS4 and Xbox One soon. There is no indication of just when soon might be. This looks to be a cool and unique game and the patch brings new content for fans to enjoy.
