AMD Subpoenaed in Graphics Antitrust Probe

AMD has received a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division in connection with the DOJ’s investigation into potential antitrust violations related to graphics processors and cards. AMD stressed that the DOJ had not made any specific allegations against them or new partner ATI.

AMD, the No. 2 computer processor maker, said it entered the graphic processor business last month through its October 25 acquisition of ATI Technologies. The Justice Department has not made any specific allegations against AMD or ATI, the company said in a statement.
