AMD Radeon RX 480 Clock Speeds and Card Listed On Newegg By Accident

By

Newegg made the listing live for VisionTek’s AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB video card a bit too soon and a reader noticed it and grabbed a screenshot before it was pulled down. The listing was for a VisionTek RX 480 video card with 8GB of GDDR5 memory. According to the listing the standard or base core clock is 1120 MHz with a boot clock of 1266 MHz. The listing also shows that there are 2,304 Stream Processors on the AMD Radeon RX 480. That makes sense as there are 36 Compute Units and we speculated that each on would contain 64 Stream Processors. We already knew the number of Compute Units as all that information was released back on June 1st and I wrote about it here.

These clock speeds make sense as it would put the compute performance at 5.2 TFLOPs at the base clock and 5.8 TFLOPs when at the boost clock. AMD has always said that the AMD Radeon RX 480 with the new 14nm Polaris GPU would have a compute performance rating of over 5 TFLOPs.
