AMD Radeon R9 390X Video Card Pictures Released

By

WCCFTech claims they have the very first teaser images of what they believe will be the AMD Radeon R9 390X video card. The graphics card is said to be about half the length of the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 and it looks like it could be liquid cooled as there is a water cooler radiator in the background of the image above the video card. This makes sense as Dr. Lisa Su explained during the Financial Analyst Day briefing that the use of HBM memory will free up board space and that new form factor designs could be created. Notice in the image below that the DVI connector is gone and that it looks like AMD will be using three DisplayPort 1.2a and one HDMI 2.0a video outputs on the Radeon R9 390X.

TechPowerUp says that the AMD Radeon R9 390X graphics card will be made available in a couple different versions and that there will be both an air-cooled version and a water-cooled version coming! TPU goes on to say that the liquid cooled version will come with a 120mm radiator that is tied to a closed loop liquid cooler.

Some think that it will be announced at E3 in Los Angeles, but that show doesn’t start until June 16th, 2015.
