Amazon Launches New Fire Products Including 4K Fire TV

Amazon has announced six new Fire products including four tablets, a new and improved Fire TV stick with Voice Remote, and an upgraded 4K Ultra HD Fire TV set-top box. Unlike the recently announced Apple TV, the second-generation Amazon Fire TV will support 4K UHD streaming for $99.99 (or 80 in the UK) which is significantly less expensive than Apple’s HD-only product. The new Amazon Fire TV will allow users to access the 4K UHD streams of Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Video, and Netflix equating to hundreds of hours of 4K content currently available with more and more film and TV series debuting each month.

Taking another comparison look at the new Amazon Fire TV and the new Apple TV, we see the Amazon Fire TV comes with 8GB of built-in storage compared to Apple’s 32GB or 64GB options. Amazon, however, will allow you to expand the Amazon Fire TV’s memory with a microSD card for a maximum capacity of 128GB.
