1GB GeForce Quadro slated for April

By

Professional and hobbyist 3D rendering nuts are in for a treat this April when the new Quadro is released. The card will feature the new 90nm G71 GPU core and a whopping 1GB of memory. Two of these in SLI would surely put a smile on any CAD drafter’s face.

Nvidia received quite a few orders for these Quadro 1GB SKUs and it has informed its premium customers that it probably cannot ship those cards till April time. A 110 nm based G70 plus one gigabyte of memory on a single PCB needs high voltage so Nvidia is forced to wait for G71 to build such a card. G71 is 90 nanometre based, and it consumes significantly less power than its 110 brother and will make the design easier.
