YouTube Will Remove Their 30 Second Unskippable Ads

When browsing through our favorite content, it’s understandable that the disruption of videos or music due to ads can be rather discouraging. For the most part, many of us don’t want to spend about $10 USD each month just to skip on ads but still support our favorite sites by disabling browser extensions like Adblock. So, when it comes to our go-to video sites like YouTube, we may encounter ads that last several minutes but have our favorite countdown at the bottom right corner that we can stare at instead of lending our attention to the Oldsmobile commercial. After the five second countdown we are greeted with the best two words this site has to offer: “Skip Ad.” Unfortunately, this is not an option for some of the 30 second ads that YouTube has up. Luckily, for the YouTube community, the world renowned video sharing site has listened to the cries of the viewers and will remove their 30 second unskippable ads according to campaignlive.co.uk. This will be effective starting in 2018.

Of course the 30 second wait is not too much of a big deal. For some of us, that’s a free pass to step away from our computers to grab a drink from the fridge before proceeding to our Overwatch video. Regardless, in the age wherein we must have everything now, we can understand how troublesome waiting may be (especially when in a rush). This problem is soon to be in the past now thanks to our persistence.
