“This summer, we’ll launch YouTube Gaming, a brand new app and website to keep you connected to the games, players, and culture that matter to you, with videos, live streams, and the biggest community of gamers on the weball in one place.”

YTG FamilyIt looks like YouTube is going head-on against Twitch.tv, the worlds largest livestreaming service tailored for gamers which was acquired by Amazon late last summer. YouTube Gaming promises to improve its own platform for broadcasters to share their stream and videos with a single link. This comes on top of existing YouTube features targeted to gamers most notably 60 FPS video and creating video on demand. The new YouTube Gaming will bring a new centralized site featuring pages for more than 25,000 games as well as pages for developers and creators. With over 78 million subscribers currently on the YouTube #Gaming channel, why didn’t YouTube push this out sooner?1cUmeCPa9Jf8FkSBHD6Ig8Ek-iEgwLUDN8ClrxlP-2CIxKcP4Yj6xsDKKZp-glNqgh8Hbw=s2048
