The pre-order listings for the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PS4 appears to be the first battle for the competing consoles. Amazon is currently selling both gaming consoles and confirmed that the Xbox One has 2.3% more sales than the Sony PlayStation 4. That is pretty close though and there is no clear leader in the the next-generation console war. When it comes to pricing, Sony has the PS4 priced at $399, undercutting the $500 Microsoft Xbox One by $100 dollars! The Sony PS4 release date is set for the holiday season this year, and PS4 pre-orders show that the PlayStation 4 will ship by December 31st, though we expect this will happen much sooner. The Microsoft Xbox One release is set for November, so you know Sony will want to release as early as possible. The Sony PS4 price is a shocker, as it uses a similar AMD ‘jaguar’ processor as the Xbox One, but has faster RAM. The $399 PS4 price could help Sony win the first console battle this holiday season, and it will be interesting to see how pre-order sales do over the next few months!
“It’s not clear yet which of the two will have the edge when they launch later this year,” said Xavier Garambois, VP of Retail at Amazon EU. “What’s certain, though, is that fans are already excited about how the next generation of consoles will change the world of gaming and home entertainment.”
