Semiconductor sales were up 6.8 percent in February from a year ago, but don’t think it is do to computer sales. It seems that cell phone sales are up big due to sales in China and India and that is great news for companies like Texas Instruments.

Worldwide semiconductor sales rose 6.8 percent in February from a year ago, fueled by demand for cell phones, the Semiconductor Industry Association said Monday. Global sales climbed to $19.2 billion in February from $18 billion a year ago. Demand for cell phones in countries including India and China is fueling sales of digital signal processors, a market dominated by Texas Instruments Inc.
