Windows 10 Supports Playable Ads

By

Microsoft announced that it will provide support for Playable Ads to Windows 10. This allows consumers to try apps without having to download the apps first. This is possible by clicking and allowing a promotion to run which streams the app for free. This feature allows for an easier way to test out available Windows 10 apps.

Playable Ads

The feature has already launched in the Windows Dev Center, so advertisers may begin to make use of it. Being able to test out how an app works is limited to just three minutes. This may be enough to convince users to give the application a download or to see if the premise of a game is worth investing time in.

Enabling Playable Ads not only shortens download history scrolls and saves valuable hard drive space, but it may also save customers money. Furthermore, allowing interactive ads does not require much work.

To create the Playable Ads, Windows has instructed the following:

  • Click on the Dashboard after your log in to your Windows Dev Center account.
  • Click on the Promotions tab under the Main menu.
  • Click on New Campaign to create a new user acquisition campaign.

Although the feature has been launched, it is currently limited to preview. Microsoft has yet to announce when the playable advertisements will become more prominent to the public.
