Will the Microsoft Xbox One Event at E3 Be Remembered For Rape Joke?

By

Did Microsoft make a rape joke at its E3 presentation? Microsoft debuted the Xbox One console at E3 on Monday, but during a demonstration of “Killer Instinct” a male producer of the game was matched up against a woman that was clearly not at his gaming level in this round of gaming.

Killer Instinct Rape Joke at E3

At one point in the game demo, he appeared to make a rape joke toward a female employee as an example of “friendly” trash talk.

“I can’t even block correctly, and you’re too fast,” she says.

“Here we go. Just let it happen. It’ll be over soon,” he says.

The audience laughed, but many took it as a really as a rape reference and that it was offensive. Some of those in the audience were big shots like Bill Gates and Steven Spielberg. What do you think? Was this just some friendly smack talk between gamers that was totally harmless or was this a bad rape joke? I doubt they planned in advance to have a rape joke in the show, but it looks like that is how it came across. Watch the “Killer Instinct” demo at E3 below where you can see and listen to how it all went down.
