In line with posting continued revenues growth in June, Transcend Information should report that its second quarter profits jumped 85% sequentially and earning per share (EPS) will exceed NT$2.

The memory module maker was not affected by traditional seasonality in the second quarter and had accumulated sales of NT$5.55 billion for the quarter, representing on-quarter growth of 24% and on-year growth of 57%. Company sources estimate that Transcend should record profits (pre-tax) of about NT$680 million in the second quarter with its EPS exceeding NT$2. Sales of NAND flash applications currently contribute 60% to the company’s overall sales and Transcend saw a significant jump in flash memory card and disk drive shipments in the second quarter, said company sources. Monthly capacity of NAND flash applications have been boosted to 2.1 million units, more than double what the company was shipping last year during the same period.
