Thermaltake’s Latest Liquid Cooling Options and DIY Cases

At CES 2016, Thermaltake hosted a private suite showing off some of their latest products that included a wide range of new liquid cooling components, the new Core X71 (which we recently reviewed), the smaller Core X31, and their first full assembly required concept cases, the W100 and P100 case.

New Liquid Cooling Options

Thermaltake is expanding their liquid cooling components offering a range of new fittings and custom GPU backplates for the NVIDIA 970GTX, 980GTX and 980Ti, along with a range of VGA bridge blocks to allow for up to quad SLI liquid cooling.

Thermaltake is also beginning to expand their line away from just the physical hardware for custom liquid cooling loops to now include a rage of opaque coolants. The C1000 coolant is a blend of antifreeze, anti-corrosion and scale inhibitors which offers protection from corrosion. The coolant will be made available in seven colors, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and White.

Thermaltake Premium W100 and P100 Full Assembly Chassis

The latest line-up of Thermaltake’s hardware is being presented in their Premium line, which includes their new W100 and P100 chassis. These two new case are shipping in a flat pack, unassembled. The end user has to put them together themselves (something like Ikea). However, you as the end user get to design how they are put together to suit your needs. There are two base models, the W100 which is the main Super Tower, and the P100 which is the Pedestal chassis. In Thermaltake’s suite, they were showing off a couple different configurations that are possible. They had two models which contained one of each of the two chassis, with the Pedestal on the bottom or the top. Then they had a similar configuration showing multiple chassis’s put together to form some extremely huge cases allowing for multiple complete systems to be built into one super case. This new modular design is fairly expensive, the W100 has a retail price of $329.99, while the P100 retails for $119.99. Both of them will be available to purchase late February 2016.

The Core X31 is the smaller version of the Core X71. The Core X31 is a mid-tower version that supports up to eight 120mm fans, or can support up to 2x 360mm radiators and 2x 120mm radiators! That’s a lot of cooling for a mid-tower. For storage there are 2x 5.25″ bays, 3x 3.5″ / 2.5″ bays, and 2x 2.5″ trays. Like the Core X71, the Core X31 is available for pre-order at many locations, and is expected to be available before the end of January 2016, with a suggested retail price of $99.99.
