Take-Two Announces Near $2 Billion Third Quarter Revenue

Take-Two Interactive has announced that they earned a net revenue of $1.86 billion, yes billion, dollars in the third quarter of 2014, up over $1.4 billion from their 2013 third quarter. This huge increase is largely due to the massive success of Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA5) as well as their success of NBA 2k14. GTA5 has sold almost 32.5 million copies and NBA 2k14 sold roughly 5 million.

Their announcement also indicates a huge increase in digital content sales namely from games such as Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2 and, obviously, GTA5 and NBA2k14 as well.

Some gamers will be dismayed that their announcement does not have any indication of a PC version of GTA5 or for the Playstation 4 or Xbox One. However, Take-Two has states that “As a result of our third quarter performance, we have once again raised our revenue and earnings outlook for fiscal 2014, which is poised to be a record year for Take-Two. This confidence is based on our development pipeline of groundbreaking new intellectual properties and offerings from our proven franchises, which bear the hallmark of our commitment to provide the highest quality entertainment experiences”.

So hopefully with the successes that Take-Two enjoyed we will see more excellent content in the same vein as GTA, Boarderlands and Bioshock.
