Switch Online NES Game Library Hacked Already

This is why we cant have nice things. Hackers have already defeated Nintendo’s recently launched Switch Online services NES game library. The hack has been shown to allow the uploading of any Nintendo game ROM you might want to play. The library of games launched with 20 titles to play.

Reports from hackers claim that the emulators that run on the NES Classic and the Switch Online service are very similar. That makes it possible to upload other games if you dare to hack. You can see a video of the hack in action in the tweet below.

Another hacker has uploaded a YouTube video that shows him playing the opening of Battletoads on the Switch Online NES games app. There is a caveat with this, Nintendo will ban your account name meaning your Switch could be worthless if you get busted.

The online service was reportedly easy to hack with little standing in the way of gamers wanting to upload their own games. It’s almost as if Nintendo wanted hackers to crack this so they could ban the consoles as a warning. At least one of the hackers thinks that Nintendo will have a hard time patching this flaw reports Kotaku.
