“Spyro Reignited Trilogy” Physical Copy Only Has One Game on Disc

Gamers who plan to buy the “Spyro Reignited Trilogy” will want to know something very important about the physical copy of the game. If you live in an area with slow internet connectivity you may be one of the game geeks who like to cruise to the closest game store and buy physical copies of games. That way you dont have to wait hours for a download and can just play right away.

With a physical copy of Spyro available, you might expect that disc to come with all three of the games that are included. You would be wrong. The disc in the physical copy only has “Spyro the Dragon” on the disc. “Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage” and “Spyro: Year of the Dragon” must be downloaded.

Polygon reached out to Activision for comment on why this was done. Activision only said, “As with most games today, downloading an update after purchase is quite common. The language on packaging and on the web is to let players know the requirements for “Spyro Reignited Trilogy”.”

I think all gamers would agree that while an update might be expected, that update most certainly isnt the size of two complete games. As for the real reason that Activision chose this, some are speculating that developers might be working on the second and third remastered games right up to the launch of the physical discs.
