Sony PlayStation Classic Lands December 3 for $100

Sony has announced its own small, retro console that will be plug and play. It follows in the footsteps of the Nintendo Classic Edition retro console that was so popular. The Sony console is called the PlayStation Classic and it will come with 20 games preloaded.

For now, the entire lineup of games is unannounced, but we do know that Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms will be among the titles. PS Classic is 45% smaller than the original PlayStation yet keeps the look and feel of the original. It ships with a USB cable, HDMI Cable, and two controllers.

The dual controllers allow for local multiplayer and they look like the controllers of that original console. Sony’s controllers do lack an analog stick, something that will bother some gamers. Sony notes that all preloaded games will be playable in the original format.

PS Classic is up for pre-order now in the US and Canada for $99.99 or $129.99 in Canada. The full line of games will be announced closer to the December 3 launch date.
