Sony Announced The Worlds Fastest SD Card in their New Sony SF-G Series

We always seem to jump with excitement when something comes out that outperforms the rest in its category. For example, we’ve been hoping for great increases in performance from Intel’s processors and the moment they make their big jump, we’ll see plenty of consumers running to upgrade their rigs. When it comes to memory, it’s helpful that storage is quick. That way, whatever needs to be accessed and transferred can be done in a matter of seconds. Sony has just announced the release of what may be the fastest SD card: The Sony SF-G Series. The writing speeds of these SD cards can reach speeds of 299 MB/s which is substantially faster than the SD cards found in our average DSLR camera.

Sony has noted in the press release that these writing speeds prove optimal for shooting videos in 4k due to the amount of information that can be quickly transferred into the card. The cards will be available in 32, 64, and 128GB which offers a decent amount of space for those of us consistently capturing photos in RAW format or video. Some features that help increase the durability of the SD cards in the SF-G series are the water proofed and anti-static designs.
