Nintendo is doing well with its SNES Classic Edition game console with 4 million units sold globally since the end of September. That is much more than the NES Classic Edition sold moving 2.3 million units before it was discontinued. Nintendo had promised to make the SNES Classic more accessible to gamers, the original mini console was very hard to find.

If you missed out on that NES Classic, it will go on sale again this year giving you another chance. The SNES Classic will be sold right alongside that other tiny console. The goal here is to lure retro gamers to purchase the consoles and relive some of their childhood gaming memories.

Nintendo sees these retro consoles as tools to drive people to the Nintendo Switch reports Gamespot. Nintendo’s Tatsumi Kimichima said, “We view them as an opportunity to garner interest in Nintendo Switch from those who have not interacted with video games in a long time, or ever.”

The SNES Classic packs 21 games inside and the NES Classic has 30 games to play. Many gamers ware waiting anxiously for a N64 Classic to launch.
