Sea of Thieves Forsaken Shores DLC Pushed to September 27

Fans of the pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves will be sad to hear that the free expansion pack for the game isn’t landing this week as expected. The launch date for the expansion has been pushed to next week. The exact date for it to launch is Thursday, September 27.

The original launch date was set for Wednesday, September 19. The exact reason for the delay wasn’t offered, but the developers did hint that bugs might be the culprit.

The devs wrote in a blog post about the delay, “This was not a decision that was taken lightly, and we know this may disappoint fans who were looking to play the update this week. That said, our priority is to deliver a stable, polished and bug-free experience and we feel that the extra week of development will enable us to do this.”

The Pioneers (presumably beta testers) were thanked in the post for their feedback and bug reports over the weekend. Presumably, during that testing, some issues were found that forced a delay in the launch.
