Samsung to Release Software Update That Will Disable Use on their Galaxy Note 7 Smartphones

In an attempt to encourage more returns, Samsung will soon be rolling out a new software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The recall for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 began several months ago as a response to several reports of smartphones overheating as well as the cell phone suddenly bursting into flames. According to an official from Samsung the defects are only present within less than 0.01 percent of the manufactured Samsung Galaxy Note 7s. So far about 93% of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in he United States have been returned since the beginning of the recall.

Samsung has already offered owners of the Galaxy Note 7 a full refund or exchange for another Samsung smartphone upon the return of the defective device. The software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be released on December 19th. The software update will cut off charging for all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices as well as restrict its use as a mobile device. We hope this will further push the remaining Samsung Galaxy Note 7 users into a return or exchange of their product to ensure their safety.
