Galaxy Tab 10.1 Picture Quality

Tablets are being carried around by most people like a cell phone, so one of the most used functions on a tablet PC is most certainly the camera. One of the most e-mailed in questions that we get on tablets is what is the best tablet has the best camera quality?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has two cameras, but for our testing we will be using the tablets main rear-mounted, 3-megapixel camera for testing. We didn’t have high hopes for the image quality since the MP was so low, but once we started taking pictures with the camera were impressed by the surprisingly sharp image quality and vast selection of controls for flash, white balance, special effects and shooting mode presets.

To keep things simple we tested the image quality with auto settings at a local park to see how it would do. We happened to have the Motorola Xoom and ASUS Transformer TF101 here for testing, so we brought both of them along so you would have something to compare the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 against. We were shocked by the differences that we saw!

Both the Motorla Xoom and the ASUS Transformer TF101 feature 5MP cameras, so we figured that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 wouldn’t do that hot, but we were wrong. As you can see from the images above the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 did very well and the picture quality was better than the ASUS Transformer TF101 by far. We still feel the best camera is still with the Motorola Xoom as it has the ability to take very stunning and crisp pictures even with the settings on auto, although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 isn’t too far off.
