Samsung Curved CJG5 Monitors Debut at Gamescom 2018

Samsung has rolled out a pair of new CJG5 gaming monitors that the company promises will be affordable for gamers. Exactly how affordable we don’t know currently. What we do know is that both are curved gaming monitors offering the same 2560 x 1440 native resolution and 3000:1 contrast.

Both CJG5 displays also share the same 1800R curvature that Samsung says will help reduce eye strain during long gaming sessions. Aspect ratio on both screens is 16:09 and both are dark silver in color. Refresh rate is 144Hz, GTG response time is 4ms and brightness is 300 cd/m2. The only difference between these two screens is size.

The C32JG5 is a 32-inch display and the C27JG5 is 27-inches. Both are designed bezel-less on three sides. Connectivity includes an HDMI 2.0 port, HDMI 1.4 port, DisplayPort 1.2, and a headphone port. Both will launch globally in Q3.

“Due to the rapidly increasing demands of gaming monitors, we sought to offer competitively-priced gaming monitors for more users to benefit from premium technology,” said Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With the technological expertise that we have accumulated throughout the years, we are making efforts to accelerate the gaming features such as 144Hz and high WQHD resolution, which will be appreciated by the mass market.”
