Roku Rolls out A Quintet of New Streaming Devices

Roku has announced five new streaming players that people can use for streaming their favorite content to their TVs. The new players offer improved performance compared to the old players, better wireless reception, and some new features. The new devices are also cheaper than they were before with prices starting at $29.99 and capping out at $99.99.

The cheapest of the devices are the Roku Express selling for $29.99 and Roku Express+ selling at $39.99, both promising to be five times as powerful as the predecessors. The Express+ is a Walmart exclusive and offers AV ports in addition to HDMI aiming at users of older TVs. The Roku Streaming Stick ($49.99) has a voice remote, quad-core processor, and 802.11 AC dual-band MIMO among other features. The Roku Streaming Stick Plus ($69.99) has support for 4K Ultra HD and HDR content at up to 60 fps.

The Roku Ultra is the top-of-the-line streaming device from Roku and it supports HD, 4K, and 4K HDR content up to 60 fps. It has a Ethernet port, microSD card slot, and a new remote with the ability to control your TV. That remote also has voice search and a headphone port for private listening.

All of those new streaming players can be pre-ordered today directly from Roku, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon and other retailers. They will be in store around October 8. That Roku Express+ is a Walmart exclusive and will hit Walmart on October 8. All buyers also get a $10 Vudu credit for rentals or purchase with that offer expiring on October 31.
