Rise Of The Tomb Raider PC specifications revealed

Square Enix, publisher of the extremely popular Tomb Raider series of games, has just made the PC release of Rise of Tomb Raider official, announcing January 28 as the release date, though this was the speculated release date for quite some time. What is now is clear are the system requirements for the game, which will give consumers a good idea of the baseline system required to get respectable performance. The minimum specifications, which are published on the official Rise of the Tomb Raider game page on Steam, are as listed:

MINIMUM:

• OS: Windows 7 64bit
• Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
• Memory: 6 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
• DirectX: Version 11
• Storage: 25 GB available space

These are what we would consider very modest requirements for a AAA title, though the memory requirement is a bit steep when considering the other minimum specifications. The minimum requirements keep this game in reach for most gamers, even those on a strict budget. I personally enjoyed the previous installment of Tomb Raider and have been looking forward to playing the PC version of the next game. I haven’t played the XBOX One or XBOX 360 versions of the game, which are the only versions available and will continue to be so until Rise of the Tomb Raider releases for PC on January 28. Playstation 4 users are getting the short end of the stick, as they won’t see the game available for purchase for their systems until later this year due to a Microsoft exclusivity deal.

Users can pre-purchase Rise of The Tomb Raider right now on Steam for $59.99 and a Digital Deluxe version featuring a Season Pass that includes future DLC for the game is available for $89.99. A Collector’s Edition, which includes the Digital Deluxe version of the game, a 12-inch Lara Croft statue, replicas of Laras journal and jade necklace, and a steel case, will also be available from the Square Enix e-store for $149.99.
