Razer’s Alliance Wins $1.4 Million at Dota 2 Championship

RAZER-SPONSORED ALLIANCE WINS $1.4 MILLION AT DOTA 2 CHAMPIONSHIP

Swedish-based eSports Team Claims Record Prize Pool at Dota 2 the International 3 Tournament

CARLSBAD, Calif. Aug. 13, 2013 Alliance, a professional video game team sponsored by Razer, the world leader in high-performance gaming systems, hardware and software, won a $1.43 million prize purse at The International 3, the annual Dota 2 tournament. The contest featured total winnings of $2.87 million, setting a record for the largest prize pool ever awarded at a competitive gaming event.

Sixteen of the worlds top Dota 2 teams participated in The International 3, which kicked-off Aug. 3 at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle, and wrapped up with the finals this past Sunday at the same venue.

Facing Season 1 champion (and Season 2 runner-up) NaVi of Ukraine, Swedish-based Alliance won the best-of-five series by the slimmest of margins, winning three games to two.
