AMD is ready for the Oculus Rift shipments that begin today and has released AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3.2 Drivers with support for the Oculus Rift SDK v1.3. The driver link hasn't been made live just yet, so if you have a Rift you'll need to wait for the link to go live on the AMD server! AMD says that their Asynchronous Shaders and new Quick Response Queue feature are utilized in LiquidVR to enable Oculus’ Asynchronous Time Warp technology that reduces latency and image judder caused by dropped frames. AMD claims that during the development of this driver that they have "worked very closely with Oculus to implement LiquidVR features into their software that take full advantage of Radeon GPUs." Gamers can check whether their current PC meets Oculus’ recommended specification with the Oculus compatibility tool.
