Pokeball Edition Nintendo 2DS XL Lands November 3

If you have someone on your holiday shopping list that likes mobiel video games on an actual portable console and not a smartphone or tablet, who also happens to be a Pokemon fan this is the gift they want. Nintendo has a new Poke Ball Edition Nintendo 2DS XL that will land on November 3. As you can tell in the image, it looks like a rectangular Pokeball.

Nintendo hasn’t announced pricing for the special edition, but CNET figures it will sell for the same $150 the standard 2DS XL sells for right now. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this Pokemon version carries a premium compared to standard versions.

Odds are when the device lands on November 3, it will be hard to find. Afterall, some of the most popular games on the 2DS are Pokemon games so the is a big market for fan gear. If Pokemon isn’t your thing, there are some new colors coming with a two tone design as well. The orange and white one is particularly cool and will land in the US on October 6.

If it were orange and black it would look just like Halloween. Japan has a black and green version and a white and purple version inbound that appear to be exclusives for that country. Japan is getting the Pokeball verison and a version with a Pikachu face on it.
