It’s an interesting little box that has a multitude of features:

  • Pair with a PS4 to stream PS4 games to another TV in the house
  • Set-top box features like the PS4’s lineup of streaming video and music apps
  • Stream games with PlayStation Now
  • Natively plays PS1, PSP classic, and PS Vita games (with the understandable limitation on those that require extensive touch interfacing)

The microconsole will retail for $99 and will launch alongside a $139 bundle which includes a PS3 controller, 8GB microSD card, an HDMI cable, and the Lego Movie game. So now, without paying $400, gamers can get at an already enormous library of games stretching over the past 15 years, as well as classics that have not yet been re-released, AND any games that may come to PlayStation Now.
