Overwatch Summer Games Return with Ranked Lucioball

By

Overwatch players might remember the Summer Games from last year that lots of gamers had fun playing. The Summer Games are returning this year and will kick off on August 8. Some changes have been made for this year and one of the biggest of those changes will be competitive Lucioball.

Lucioball competition will include placement matches, rankings, and other competitive features. Players playing the game and doing well will get special sprays for a good performance. The Summer Games will last three weeks this year and Kotaku reports that Blizzard is eyeing ranked seasons for other modes.

During the Summer Games events players will be able to unlock new skins and the skins that were offered during the event last year will be sold at a discount. If the skin you wanted last year sold for 3,000 credits, it will sell for 1,000 credits this year. Some of the gameplay elements have been changed for the games this season.

The biggest change has to do with Lucio’s ultimate, it now makes the character run faster and jump better. Last year that ultimate would pull the ball towards you and according to Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan this change was made to avoid “cheesy strategies.” Summer Games 2017 will have two stadiums this season including Sydney and Rio.
