A steam app is available on android play and steam shield which allows enjoyment of 4K streaming on shield. There are over a thousand games available currently on NVIDIA Shield. Again, full 4K HDR on a $199 device! NVIDIA has found a simple way to bring 4K and HDR content along with PC gaming into your living room.

NVIDIA SHIELD TV may now be controlled with ease since NVIDIA has worked with Google to create the first Android TV with Google Assistant. Google Assistant, the virtual software that lets you do things like control your lights, change the temperature, or search for a TV show by simply speaking the commands out loud.

The new NVIDIA Shield TV also has an optional accessory called the NVIDIA Spot that plugs into a wall power outlet. It contains a microphone that picks up speech naturally. Multiple NVIDIA Spots may be setup in a household, or any space for that matter, and be used to triangulate who is speaking. NVIDIA appears to be taking the plunge into smart home technology with the help of Google. Each NVIDIA Spot runs $50 and you’ll need to purchase the new NVIDIA Shield TV to serve as the central hub for $199. The image below shows what appears to be a home with 11 NVIDIA Spots installed into your typical wall outlets, so that would add up to be about $550 in Spots alone.

The new NVIDIA Shield TV is available for pre-order now, but the NVIDIA Spot is just listed as coming soon.
