NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti with 2304 CUDA Cores Coming Soon?

The AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and Vega 56 have raised the bar when it comes to performance from what gamers can expect from AMD, but fails to put much pressure on the high-end graphics cards from AMD. NVIDIA is in no rush to bring their next-generation Volta GPU to market thanks to the high prices of limited supply of HMB2 memory and the fact that AMD’s Vega series failed to dethrone the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti as the fastest card around. At one point in time we heard NVIDIA was going to be releasing an improved GeForce GTX 1070 to compete with the Vega series. We heard it was going to have 1Gbps faster memory at one point, but now we are hearing rumors that there might be a new GeForce GTX 10 series model called the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Video Card

This card is rumored to have 2,304 NVIDIA CUDA cores, which is less than the 2,560 on the GeForce GTX 1080 and more than the 1,920 found on the standard GeForce GTX 1070. The extra cores would give the 1070 Ti (Titanium) model some extra muscle to keep the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 at bay. Strangely enough, the rumors sites don’t know if the card will be running GDDR5 or GDDR5X memory, so that will be interesting to find out. The NVIDIA Subreddit already has some comments on the rumor, but a couple people there are calling it unnecessary and they don’t see a point of a card that is so close to a GeForce GTX 1080.

The ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070 8GB graphics card has been around for some time, but what about the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB? The picture below was tipped off to us by a reader and it shows that ASUS might have a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti STRIX in the works. We doubt it is a typo for the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB card or the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB as they’d have to get the model and the amount wrong.

It will be interesting to see if the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is the real deal or just a rumor that someone made up!
